Overview

This issue highlights dialysis access evaluation, many different types of pseudoaneurysms/aneurysms and gastrocnemius tears. 


Objectives
Upon completion of reading this article the participant should be able to:

  1. Define the two modalities best suited for evaluating suitability of dialysis access grafts to be used.
  2. Define volume flow and where it is most effectively used.
  3. Discuss the location(s) of the most common areas of stenosis in failing grafts.
  4. Explain possible outcomes of uterine pseudoaneurysm.
  5. Define possible methods used to thrombose uterine pseudoaneurysms.
  6. Discuss possible negative outcomes from treatment.
  7. Discuss the relative occurrence of celiac artery aneurysm combined with dissection.
  8. Discuss treatments celiac artery aneurysm/dissection.
  9. Define the size after which celiac aneurysms are treated.
  10. Describe occurrence of common carotid absence.
  11. Describe how absent common carotid arteries have historically been discovered.
  12. Discuss the symptoms presented in this case.
  13. Describe the most common causes of mycotic aneurysms.
  14. Discuss the symptoms of infectious endocarditis (IE).
  15. Describe what multiple areas that were affected by this patients’ IE.
