2019 Pelvic Anatomy and Gynecologic Surgery Symposium (PAGS 2019)

The conference will consist of lectures and video presentations by renowned experts. Those experts will address indications, techniques, and outcomes for several minimally invasive gynecologic procedures, as well as the medical management of a number of common chronic gynecologic conditions. The annual PAGs conference is designed to provide updated information on emerging clinical strategies and techniques for obstetricians/gynecologists, second-, third-, and fourth-year residents in OB/GYN, and sub-specialty fellows. Advanced practitioners such as nurse practitioners and certified nurse anesthetists also are invited to attend. Extensive question-and-answer periods and breakout sessions will provide all participants a forum for discussion and deeper exploration of the curriculum.

1. Recognize key anatomic and physiological principles involved in the treatment of pelvic disorders.
2. Identify strategies for avoiding and managing urogynecologic and laparoscopic surgical complications.
3. Apply techniques and principles in surgery through hands-on experience.
4. Recognize the most appropriate routes of surgical and non-surgical routes for various gynecological conditions.
5. Explain the most recent developments in robotic-assisted, laparoscopic, and open surgery for myomectomy, endometrial hyperplasia, hysterectomy, pelvic floor repair and vaginal hysterectomy with oophorectomy.
6. Describe current tissue extraction/retrieval techniques.
7. Discuss nuances, indications, and techniques for single port and vaginal hysterectomy and "conventional" laparoscopy vs. robotic surgery.
8. Describe the role of hysteroscopic surgery, including sterilization techniques.
9. List current surgical and non-surgical treatment for incontinence.
10. Recognize ways of avoiding and managing postpartum perineal disorders.
