The first symposium of the Greater Cincinnati Eating Disorder Professionals, hosted by the Lindner Center of HOPE, will present topics related to weight stigma in healthcare, eating disorder prevalence rates across demographic variables and unique considerations for assessment and treatment, and concurrent treatment of trauma and eating disorders using cognitive processing therapy.

Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the difference between the sequential and concurrent model of treatment for trauma.
  2. List the 5 main transdiagnostic themes that Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) reviews.
  3. Explain what an impact statement is in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
  4. Identify the eating disorder prevalence rates across demographic variables
  5. Define signs and symptoms of eating disorders may vary based on demographic variables.
  6. Develop their culutral competence when working with eating disorder patients.
  7. Identify at least one way weight bias manifests in the healthcare setting.
  8. Identify at least one manifestation of weight bias in eating disorder treatment.
  9. Describe three changes one can make in clinical practice to reduce weight bias.
