 This is an annual interactive CME rheumatology conference for rheumatologists, fellows and advanced practice clinicians.  This conference enlists the best worldwide faculty to address novel or cutting-edge issues and advances in rheumatology and therapeutics.  We apply advances in education and event technology to promote audience-driven, interactive learning with the aim of higher retention and greater impact on participants (changing minds and practice). Educational outcomes will be assessed in the usual manner with pre-test and post-test performance of HCP registrants. In addition, we will quantify digital engagements as a surrogate measure of educational impact.  Digital engagements are quantified by HCP registrant downloads, session enrollment, questions asked, poll participation, social media uploads and pre- and post-test quiz engagements.

1. Demonstrate increased knowledge regarding the pathogenic mechanisms, genetics and immunologic processes underlying rheumatic, inflammatory and immunologic disorders
2. Discuss the importance of shared decision making andeective clinician-patient communications while delivering optimal medical care for those with rheumatic diseases.
3. Recognize the importance of early diagnosis and initiation of disease modifying and novel therapies
4. Review the mechanisms of action of various drugs and immunomodulatory agents commonly used in rheumatologic care
5. Review the range of adverse events that may accompany the use of immunomodulatory agents and how to best avoid, prevent, and monitor for drug safety.
6. Review newly revised disease and diagnostic classification criteria and outcome measures necessary for the optimal care of rheumatic disease patients.
7. Review lifestyle modifications, ancillary services, and other therapies necessary to best manage both the disease and comorbidities related to rheumatic conditions.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the University of Cincinnati and RheumNOW Inc. The University of Cincinnati is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The University of Cincinnati designates this live activity for a maximum of 12.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ABIM MOC Points

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 12.5 ABIM MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
