Overview
The University of Cincinnati Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Case Series will utilize patient cases and panel discussions to provide an in-depth overview of how to treat and monitor patients with Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. The cases will be moderated by an IBD expert. The panelists will be expert gastroenterologists, colorectal surgeons, psychiatrists, pharmacists, dieticians, and advanced providers. There will also be guest panelists from other specialties such as OB/GYN, rheumatology, and dermatology.

Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify the rationale for positioning of biologic therapies and small molecules for ulcerative colitis.
  2. Describe surgical techniques for management of ulcerative colitis.
  3. Identify challenges in treating women with IBD during pregnancy.
  4. Discuss fertility and assisted fertility treatment options for women with IBD.
  5. Identify the rationale for positioning of biologic therapies and small molecules for Crohn's disease.
  6. Describe surgical management of Crohn’s Disease complications.
  7. Describe the medical treatment options available for perianal fistulizing Crohn’s Disease.
  8. Identify the surgical techniques for managing perianal Crohn’s Disease
  9. Identify patients who need combination therapy.
  10. Describe how to manage dual advanced IBD therapies.
  11. Describe surgical techniques for management of ulcerative colitis.
  12. Implement perioperative disease management strategies.
