Objectives
After reading and studying the papers used for CME in the Winter 2017 Issue of the Journal of Vascular Ultrasound, participants should be able to: 

  1. Define the usual causes of varicose veins.
  2. Define the unusual causes of varicose veins.
  3. Discuss the various methods of diagnosing varicose veins.
  4. Define POCUS.
  5. Explain risk factors for venous thromboembolism.
  6. Discuss abilities and disabilities of POCUS.
  7. Define what criterion-based indications for vascular studies means.
  8. Define “care gaps”.
  9. Define “modified referral handling.
  10. Describe the incidence of superficial temporal aneurysm.
  11. Discuss usual causes of STAA
  12. Discuss ways of determining the presence of STAA
  13. Discuss possible manifestations of the Turner syndrome
  14. Define subclavian flap repair and its use.
  15. Explain a possible cause of triphasic internal carotid artery Doppler flows.
