Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the key aspects of public health financial management.
  2. Describe accounting methods and the local health district budget process.
  3. Identify statutory and compliance issues for local public health.
  4. Discuss key financial indicators for local public health.
  5. Discuss financial projections for local public health.
  6. Analyze the financial implications of employee hiring and retention on the health department.
  7. Define the ODH Subgrant team responsibilities.
  8. Identify the expenditure report process.
  9. Describe common GMIS issues and determine their resolution.
  10. Recognize various input requirements in GMIS.
  11. Discuss compliance and security controls to prevent theft in the local public health departments.
