Overview

Telepsychiatry COVID-19 Webcast Series: Special Practices and Considerations for the Initiation and Continuation of Care in Patients with Substance Use Disorders (i.e., Opioids and Alcohol)
(Live presentation held on August 12, 2020)

In the midst of the COVID pandemic, telepsychiatry has taken a prominent role in providing continued care for patients. This special summer series of five lectures will cover the best practices, legal and ethical of telepsychiatry. It will also address the use of telepsychiatry and special considerations for specific psychiatric conditions including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and substance use disorders.

Objectives

As a result of participating in this activity, participants should be able to:


  1. Describe the context, history and trends impacting Telepsychiatry in addiction treatment;
  2. Adapt telepsychiatry treatments to addiction services;
  3. Describe best clinical practice for conducting addiction treatment with individual patients.

This series is offered at no cost.
