Overview

The Gastroenterology landscape is ever-evolving. Because of the significant advances in the understanding of the pathogenesis of disease(s), diagnosis, treatment and overall management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and viral hepatitis over the last decade, gastroenterologists require ongoing education and insight regarding proper patient selection, current and emerging therapies, assessing benefit/risk, the utilization of imaging modalities and the use/implementation of assessment tools in order to improve patient care and overall healthcare outcomes. Additionally, there are emerging hot topics that impact all general gastroenterologists including colon cancer screening, acid reflux and pancreatic disorders.

Overall Goal
The goal of this activity is to provide Gastroenterologists with current, evidence-based data that can be translated into clinical practice in order to maximize therapeutic goals and optimize healthcare outcomes for patients with inflammatory bowel disease, liver disorders and general gastroenterology.

Overall Format
This 4-day, comprehensive CME activity will utilize evidence-based data around the management of inflammatory bowel disease, liver disorders and key updates in general gastroenterology. Case studies, didactic teaching, interactive discussion/panels, and workshops will enhance the relevancy providing gastroenterologists with the ability to apply the latest data into clinical practice. A Boot-camp has been added prior to the meeting to allow allied health providers and physicians to catch up on the basics of IBD and viral hepatitis prior to the course itself.
