Overview

This activity will provide health care providers with innovative, multimodal environmental health tools and resources regarding perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

To participate in this activity, review CME Front Matter, which includes the Overview tab, Faculty Disclosure tab, and the Educational Support tab. To take the pre/post-test and watch the video, go to the Course Content tab.

**There are no fees for participating in and receiving CME credit for this online activity. CME funding is provided by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences grant #P30ES006096, Community Engagement Core, with carryover funds from Year 27.**

Objectives

As a result of participating in this activity, participants should be able to:


  1. Identify sources of PFAS chemicals in your patients;
  2. Describe the extent of PFAS exposure in the past & currently;
  3. Identify patients whose health may be impacted by PFAS exposure;
  4. Discuss the risks and health effects of PFAS exposure;
  5. Identify ways to counsel patients exposed to PFAS.

Accreditation

The University of Cincinnati is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The University of Cincinnati designates this live activity for a maximum of .75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.  Physicians should claim only the credits commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

American Board of Internal Medicine

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to .75 MOC point in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.  Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity.  It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
