This educational activity is designed for Rheumatologists who manage patients with rheumatic and systemic autoimmune diseases. 



Objectives
  1. Demonstrate increased knowledge regarding the immunopathogenesis of various autoimmune rheumatic diseases.
  2. Recognize the importance of early initiation of therapy for patients with various rheumatic diseases
  3. Explain the mechanisms of action of various drugs and immunomodulatory agents commonly prescribed by rheumatologists
  4. Cite adverse events that may be related to the use of various immunomodulatory agents commonly prescribed by rheumatologists
  5. Define appropriate outcome measures for the optimal follow-up of patients with rheumatic diseases, both in clinical research trials as well as in clinical practice
  6. Discuss, compute and appreciate the importance of the utilization of outcome assessment tools, particularly patient reported outcomes, in the management of when managing patients with rheumatic diseases
  7. Discuss and understand the importance of clinician/patient communication regarding benefits versus risks when selecting immunomodulatory agents for the management of rheumatic diseases
