The goal of this activity is to provide rheumatologists with current, evidence-based data that can be translated into clinical practice in order to maximize therapeutic goals and optimize healthcare outcomes for patients with various rheumatic diseases.

This 4-day, comprehensive CME activity will utilize evidence-based data around the management of rheumatic diseases. Didactic teaching, interactive discussion/panels, case-based discussions and workshops will enhance the relevancy providing rheumatologists with the ability to apply the latest data into clinical practice. 1. Demonstrate knowledge regarding the immunopathogenesis of the major autoimmune, systemic inflammatory rheumatic diseases; this includes rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), axial spondyloarthritis, vasculitides, scleroderma, Sjogrens syndrome, dematomyositis, gout and other conditions
2. Recognize the importance of early initiation of therapy for patients with various rheumatic diseases, and the role that this can play in optimizing outcomes. Discuss the data from studies that have treated patients in the earliest phase of diseas (e.g clinically suspect arthralgia)
3. Discuss the data from studies that have treated patients in the earliest phase of disease (e.g clinically suspect arthralgia)
4. Explain the mechanisms of action of various agents commonly prescribed by rheumatologists, and how this may be of relevance as regards efficacy and safety considerations.
5. Define appropriate outcome measures for the optimal follow-up of patients with various rheumatic diseases, both in clinical research trials as well as in clinical practice, and how these can be practically applied.
6. Recognize emerging trends in medicine, such as artificial intelligence and understand how these will impact the care of patients with rheumatic diseases.
7. Discuss the importance of clinician/patient communication regarding benefits versus risks when selecting therapeutic alternatives.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the University of Cincinnati and Excellence in Rheumatology Education. The University of Cincinnati is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The University of Cincinnati designates this live activity for a maximum of 22 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ABIM MOC Points
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 22 ABIM MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

ABP MOC Points
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity, with individual assessments of the participant and feedback to the participant, enables the participant to earn 22 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information t ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.
