December 2023 JVU: Screening for Subclavian Artery Stenosis

This issue contains a review on cerebral vasomotor reactivity testing using transcranial Doppler in COVID patients, a review on the decrease in endothelial function in peripheral arteries and the influence of aging, a review on screening for subclavian artery stenosis, and a report on catheter misplacement following subclavian vein catheterization.

9. List the ultrasound characteristics associated with subclavian artery stenosis.
10. Describe how hand acceleration time is measured.
11. List the symptoms associated with subclavian artery stenosis.
12. State the most common malposition of a subclavian vein catheter.
13. Explain the normal course of the guidewire from the right subclavian vein to the right atrium.
14. State the incidence of subclavian vein catheter malposition.
