Overview

Ophthalmology Faculty Development Webcast Series

Goal: To provide participants with strategies, tips, processes and procedures to develop surgery related training activities with patient safety in mind.

Course Format: This is a self-led series independent modules. Participants can choose to participate in the entire series, or choose to join the modules that will be most useful to them. Modules consist of a recorded asynchronous presentation with activities and assessment.

Objectives

As a result of participating in this activity, participants should be able to:


  1. Explain the fundamentals for developing a patient safety centered surgery training program;
  2. Set up simulation surgical activities that would fit all budgets;
  3. Apply teaching strategies for implementing an effective, efficient and safe surgical training program;
  4. Describe methods of assessing surgical competence.
