As a result of participating in this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify patients at risk for metabolic syndrome and how to screen them.
  2. Learn the evidence-based guidelines for lifestyle modifications and how to improve patient adherence.
  3. Practice guideline base approach to blood glucose management.
  4. Learn how metabolic syndrome increases the cancer risk and screening modalities.
  5. Screen patients with metabolic associated steatotic liver disease and when to refer.
  6. Describe evidence-based strategies for managing cardiovascular risk associated with metabolic syndrome.
  7. Discuss updates in medical and surgical weight loss.
  8. Discuss the importance of sleep disorder management in mitigating CV risk from metabolic syndrome
