Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Review current research and emerging evidence in orthopaedic trauma care and its implications for clinical practice.
  2. Apply advanced surgical techniques to complex trauma scenarios to optimize patient outcomes.
  3. Evaluate patient-reported outcomes and functional recovery metrics following orthopaedic injuries.
  4. Analyze patterns of injury and instability to inform surgical decision-making in pelvic and lower extremity trauma.
  5. Collaborate across disciplines to improve care delivery and outcomes in orthopaedic trauma patients.
  6. Explain the biomechanical principles underlying LC-type pelvic injuries.
  7. Apply this understanding to guide surgical fixation strategies and improve stability outcomes.
  8. Differentiate planes of instability using imaging and clinical assessment.
  9. Evaluate functional recovery trajectories following LC-II injuries.
  10. Interpret patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) in pelvic trauma patients.
  11. Identify key indications and challenges associated with ballistic femoral neck fractures.
  12. Demonstrate surgical principles and techniques for open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) in high-energy injuries.
  13. Compare outcomes and complication risks between operative strategies for ballistic hip injuries.
