Doppler ultrasound continues to evolve and this issue looks at this evolution in a paper evaluating the use of Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound to increase the far field visualization and enhance the ability of readers to classify carotid stenosis. Using statistics to evaluate the presence of significant carotid stenosis and an analysis of accreditation delays are presented in this issue.

Knowledge in the arena of pseudoaneurysm and iatrogenic AV fistula is always lacking due to the unusual nature of these problems – case studies are presented elucidating the diagnosis of these problems.

Also in this issue of the JVU there is a peer reviewed guideline for pelvic venous duplex ultrasound evaluation.

1. Define the ability of contrast enhancement to assist in classification of carotid disease.

14. Define the most useful instrumentation for determining blood flow abnormalities and patient intervention in pseudoaneurysm.
15. Discuss time of testing in pelvic venous ultrasound.
16. Discuss signs and symptoms venous disease.
17. Explain method most appropriate for assessing venous reflux.
18. Discuss minimum requirements for pelvic venous duplex.
19. Define appropriate vein diameter measurements.
